As the local MP Malcolm is keeping in touch with the appropriate authorities on future airport security

Breaching of Aberdeen Airport's security fence and staging of a rooftop protest against the airport's proposed expansion is wholly unjustified, according to local MP, Malcolm Bruce whose Gordon constituency includes the airport.

Mr Bruce explained: "This was a dangerous and irresponsible act which caused disruption and cost that if repeated or sustained would be deeply damaging to the local economy.

"I visited the airport police recently and was told that they had carried out an exercise for exactly this kind of incident and I have been assured by airport management today (Tuesday) that they believe their response was rapid and appropriate.

"I expect there to be a full review of what happened and whether enhanced security measures are necessary to deal with any potential breach of security with more malicious intent.

"I am in touch with the appropriate authorities and have asked them to keep me fully informed."

If you are a resident of the Gordon constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
