Malcolm Bruce is to be formally adopted by local members of the Gordon Liberal Democrat party tomorrow as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate in the forthcoming general election.
Mr Bruce announced he is looking forward to meeting local members in Gallery i in Inverurie tomorrow evening. Speaking ahead of the meeting he said:
"I very much appreciate the Gordon Liberal Democrat's endorsement and am looking forward to the campaign in the run up to 6th May poll.
"It has been an incredible honour to have been returned by the people of Gordon for six general elections and to see much of the progress that has been made. I know there is still more to do in fighting for greater investment in the region, the need for a stable economic climate for businesses and workers alike, and improvements in local infrastructure and transport.
"From experience I know that people in Gordon care passionately about their place in their local communities and in the wider world. That is why I believe they need a Liberal Democrat MP who will defend their civil liberties, fight to promote renewable energy and green jobs and stand up for a principled foreign and defence policy.
North east MSP Alison McInnes added:
"Malcolm has a fantastic track record in fighting to establish a voice for Gordon in the UK. I believe that his combination of experience, local and parliamentary knowledge, energy and enthusiasm would best serve Gordon in Westminster and I hope that voters will agree with me on the 6th May."
