Malcolm Bruce has been returned as the new MP for Gordon following the general election on Thursday 6th May.
The Liberal Democrat MP successfully defended the parliamentary seat he first won in 1983.
Speaking afterwards Mr Bruce said:
"I am grateful to the people of Gordon for again entrusting me with the responsibility to represent them in Westminster. It is indeed an honour to promote our part of the country in Parliament and I aim to continue to make the case for the north east and its people and communities.
"Chief among my priorities will be to campaign for investment in the constituency which needs improved infrastructure support from both London and Edinburgh if it is to continue to benefit from the oil and gas sector and attract new investment. We also want to bring green jobs to the North East and to maintain and improve transport links within the region and beyond."
