MP hosts public meeting on Post Office changes

9.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Sat 5th Jul 2008

Local MP Malcolm Bruce is to chair a public meeting next Monday (7th July) which will hear residents concerns over the proposed changes to the post office services in Rhynie, Lumsden and Kennethmont.

The meeting will take place from 7.30pm at the Rhynie Community Centre, (behind the school in Rhynie).

The meeting will be attended by post office representatives who will explain the proposals and respond to representations.

Mr Bruce said:

"Many constituents have written to me to object to the current proposals which will see a drastic reduction to the number of hours for post office services in Rhynie, Lumsden and Kennethmont, as well as Collieston.

"I will be chairing a public meeting in Rhynie next week which will be attended by post office representatives who will explain the proposals and respond to representations.

"This meeting presents an important opportunity for community representatives and residents of Rhynie, Lumsden and Kennethmont in particular to make strong representations for better arrangements than those proposed and I would encourage as many people as possible to attend."
