Bruce's hope for Scotch Meat employees

12.00.00am GMT Tue 12th Jan 2010

Gordon Lib Dem MP Malcolm Bruce has expressed his disappointment after the announcement that Inverurie firm Aberdeen Scotch Meat has gone into liquidation with the loss of 34 jobs.

Commenting, Mr Bruce said:

"This is obviously disappointing news for the employees concerned, and symptomatic of the problems many companies are experiencing in the current recession.

"However, Inverurie and the North East have a strong presence in the meat business. I hope that the skills and talents of the employees will be swiftly recognised and taken up by other firms.
